Salisbury Steak
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2013, 07:20:21 PM »
It's cold here.. Really cold. I remember my grandmother making this when I was young, never tried to do it myself. Let's give it a shot. Took some ground beef, pork and veal added some bread crumbs, egg, worshtishire, cumin, tyme, puréed onion and garlic. Used the dough hook on my kitchen aid to mix. Formed some steak like patties. Smoked the patties for 20 mins and then cooked in a pan for 30 mins more at 350. Threw the patties into the warmer box while I cooked the mushrooms and onions in the fat from the meat. Drained off and added back to the patties with a gravy made from beef broth, dry mustard, ketchup, and salt and pepper. Let it reduce and simmer for 30 mins. Served Mrs Sally's over mashed potatoes, had mine over butter egg noodles. This is some serious comfort food.

Nice job Scally. I did the same thing on my Mak several months ago. Think I need to do it again. I remember it was tasty.....and it is cold here.
