I bit the bullet today and ordered a fermenting crock. After my kraut didn't want to stay down in the jug I added a plastic bag of water but didn't leave enough air space, I had kraut juice going up thru the air lock and all over the counter. I got it ok now but decided to order the crock. Here is the cheapest price I could find for a 5 liter crock and is free shipping US(HI, AK). I got the German one for $109, the Polish one is $89.
