Christmas Nuts and Bolts
« Reply #-1 on: December 13, 2013, 06:55:46 PM »
When my Niece asks what can I say ::). She wanted nuts and bolts, I said sure but you have to help this year.

Ok there is no set way to do this, I walk down thru the store and If it looks good I throw it in.

Let's get started, take everything and throw it into a garbage bag. I would use a clean one. ;)

One in the bag carefully give it a good mix. I usually close the end and grab a corner and move it around.

Make up at 4 batches of spices, again add more or less as you like. Add something different no problem.

Dump the cereal into a roaster, sprinkle on the spice.
Note: most important part. 1lb butter per roaster.

Into the oven, once the butter melts I start stirring every 20min

Hope you have zoom ;D

A very Merry And safe Christmas from my family to yours,
CDN

We call that party mix. And you are right, the butter is critical.   I usually make some for Christmas......the season is getting away from me

I love this kinda stuff....Sometimes, I cold smoke the nuts first....And - I have smoked all of the cereals too - but it can be a little too strong for my tastes....
