BBQ Capital Cook-Off -- Lexington, NC
« Reply #-1 on: April 24, 2014, 07:36:03 AM »
Okay, fresh off of our "reign in the rain" finish at Kings Mountain last weekend, Billy and I will take up the challenge again this coming Saturday.  I'm still tired but still a little stoked, too.  It can't be any wetter or more miserable, but sometimes you never know what works  ???

Follow-up:  Alas, the gods of barbeque were not kind one week later.  We finished 44th in Chicken, 35th in Ribs, 36th in Pork, and 46th in Brisket.  Not a happy day in Mudville at all, especially considering we didn't change anything from Kings Mountain except to improve the Brisket considerably.  The weather was beautiful which may have been the problem.  Perhaps we do better in excessively humid conditions (screaming, pouring rain).

Hub, your #1 in all those categories according to us. Keep your head high because you'll do just fine at the next competition. I enjoy reading about your competition experiences.
