My garden 2014, tomatoes
« Reply #-1 on: May 14, 2014, 10:23:40 AM »
I just got my tomatoes in Monday and it is all I plan to put out except for some basil.

My little garden, a beefsteak, two better boys, an early girl, a yellow and a roma

Chives ready to bloom, that is volunteer garlic chives to the left and the square tile will get a basil plant later. I know a few weeds too!

Nice looking tomaters there Don.  Can't beat vine ripe tomatoes.  The ones in the stores are usually so tasteless.

Looking good. I'm hoping spring will hit here soon! High school softball season ends tonight - haven't had a game day above 55* yet!

We're not far behind you, 94 today, 99 tomorrow.  The good thing about it is the scenery at the lake gets better as the temps rise.  :P

SD since your are in a shorter growing season and love tomatoes; if you have the time and energy you may want to look into cold frames or a small green house. Seems to me some Canadians have the knack for hot house tomatoes; If I want tomatoes here in the winter I look for ones that say from Canada as they have some flavor to them. Don
