I have looked at all of them on the market, but came back tot eh Dork Foods - because of robust build, capacity ( will handle higher wattage ) and - it does not sit in the water. Long term - no matter what...sitting an electric appliance in the water is....well - a "mitigable risk" that I can avoid. ;)

And - the versatility of having a tiny water pump - or aquarium air pump , w/ silicone air line tubing and ceramic air stone means I can use the Dorkfoods unit for whatever I want - in any configuration container.

It is not as elegant in appearance. But I have yet to find a food item that can tell the difference ;) :D

Or this one... http://www.amazon.com/Anova-Sous-Immersion-Circulator-Black/dp/B00GT753W8/ref=sr_1_1?s=appliances&ie=UTF8&qid=1402069943&sr=1-1&keywords=sansaire

Dang, now I am getting excited...  ;D ;) ;D

The Anova is the model I have and I'm very pleased with it.  One slim unit that attaches to just about any size pot or container, it can be used for small or large capacity SV cooking.  I have used mine on 10qt and 24qt stock pots so far and it has worked well.   Easy to use touch screen control that can set the cooking time up 99hrs 59min, or it can be left on to run until it is turned off, and temperature control settings, user selectable between F and C, in a wide variety of temperature ranges.

Certainly can't argue with the price !
I bought my PolyScience SV ~ 3 years ago now, and have never regretted it. My wife is a stickler for a perfectly (according to her) cooked fillet, and for as skeptical as she was when I bought it ...... she doesn't want it    cooked   any    other    way ..... serious
