KCBS Blues and Cues
« Reply #-1 on: June 28, 2014, 04:33:31 PM »
Jan and I judged a KCBS event in Metropolis IL this afternoon.  35 teams competed.  As husband and wife, Jan and I are not allowed to sit at the same table to judge.  We both had good tables and both had really good Table Captains.  In my little feeble opinion, a good Table Captain makes judging easier, much more fun for the judges and the table runs smoothly.

All in all, we had a really good time.  Extremely full and won't be eating anything barbecued for dinner tonight!

When my wife and I judge BBQ, she says the last thing she wants for lunch or dinner for a LOOONG TIME is BBQ.

You're absolutely right, a good Table Captain makes the judging a more enjoyable event.

Sounds like it turned out pretty good!

My cure for BBQ overdose is scrambled eggs and some whole wheat toast.   Pretty much a staple around here on the weekends.

Sounds like a good time you had judging. Very cool that both you and the wife are certified judges.

For those of you that don't know, Metropolis, IL is the home of Superman. I have a great pic of my son standing under the giant Superman statue they have. Cool little town.
