Sunday Ribeyes
« Reply #-1 on: June 29, 2014, 11:28:13 PM »
Did 2 ribeyes today. Seasoned them with some garlic powder and gunpowder. Put them in at 130F for 4 hrs.
Seared them on the weber griddle for about 1 minute each side. Made some hasselback potatoes, sauted onions, mushrooms, and spinach.
Here they are as they came out of the roaster

Here they are after being seared on the grill

The full plate

Results:
Meat was very tender, a perfect medium rare (at least my idea of medium rare). Texture was very good. Wife agreed and said she liked them cooked this way better than grilled.
(I think we are hooked)
Why couldn't Noah have swatted the 2 mosquitoes?.

You will find that Sous Vide just gives you one more option - that allows you to maximize your other skills. It is truly one of the biggest improvements in making almost anything more tender, juicy and flavorful. I think it is really worth every cent.
