Title: something different - Octopus
Post by: Smokin Papa Steve on September 29, 2016, 11:04:07 AM
Picked up a frozen 4.5 lb Octopus and decided to try this out.  Reading about what others do I basically defrosted it and set it in a big pot of boiling water for 45 minutes to tenderize.  After cutting off the head and cutting up the tentacles, I mixed with olive oil, salt, pepper and herbs de provence for the grilling.  Came out tender and very sweet.  As a warning, my kitchen had a very fishy smell while the octopus was cooking so if you live in a cool climate, definitely open the windows or better boil it outside.  Served with charred romaine lettuce hearts and some other veggies for a wonderful meal
