I live in northern New Hampshire up in the mountains. It easily hits negative 30 for stretches. Almost everyone uses oil for heat because electric would bankrupt you. A lot of people use or supplement with pellet stoves because they are more efficient and you do are not subject to wildly fluctuating oil prices. The one downside is if the power goes out, so does the stove.
At the beginning of winter I saw in Tractor Supply for the first time a gravity fed pellet stove. I wonder if this will make the way into the smoker and grill market to cutout the electrical cord?

Interesting......
Initially, I think of the temperature control on this design is the difficult part. And the potential of a "clump" of pellets causing a stoppage....But, all of that is just conjecture....

I think that is what those bottom knobs are for. I didn't do any research into it since I already have a good pellet stove. If I was building or renovating a home I would look into it.

I think the idea is interesting but would not be cost effective for a pellet grill.
