Hello All,
My PBC arrived last evening.
Due to other commitments won't be able to cook until weekend.
Was wondering if anyone had done burgers on the PBC and if so, did you flip them?
I say in some videos folks making a roast and they did not flip, so I was just curious whether it would be necessary or not.
Thank you in advance.
Chris

I've never done burgers on the PBC. Not sure if it can sear a burger like it needs to be seared.
-
I haven't done them either - my concern is they would be more like meatloaf - not that there is anything wrong with meatloaf!
-
You sure can and I sure have. The PBC grills up a mean steak as well. Here is my burger post on the PBC

Thank you Smoke.
Those burgers look great.
Can't wait to try them out.
Thanks again

The PBC will grill an awesome burger, lid off flip half way through, Enjoy!

ooops, forgot to mention the lid off ;) If you use frozen patties go 80/20. If you do get a flare-up, just get the lid on quickly. :)

Like I have said - you learn more here by accident than anywhere else by design! Can't wait for the snow to melt!
-
I'd probably do PBC burgers if I was cooking for a crowd. But I love my burgers well crusted.

A suggestion:
Our favorite way of doing burgers the past few years is to load a 9 X 13 cookie sheet up with 3 - 4 lbs of ground chuck, top with bacon, cheese, onion, whatever you like, and smoke-roast them until done. NO FLIPPING!!! When done cut them into 8 burgers and serve on Texas toast.
You should be able to fit a 9 X 13 cookie sheet down onto the grate with no problem, and the temps in a Pit Barrel should work perfectly for this.

What a great idea - can cut them into sliders as well... Will try this when I can get on the deck.

Sounds like a great idea. ;)

Gonna try this out soon. Great idea.

If I remember correctly, I think you posted some pics of this outstanding method....maybe you can find them for us............. :)
