I wanted to try a recipe I did a few years back but do it with Instant Gourmet instead of Mrs.Dash
I melted one stick of butter and 2 Tbs of Instant Gourmet and let simmer for 30 min's

I then let it cool somewhat and then injected into the bird
(http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt326/TMBs/InstantGourmetChicken007.jpg)
Then I used what was left over to cover the skin

It will sit in the fridge over night then I'll cook it in the BEESR to finish.

It will be good Tommy! I love Phil's Original the best.

It is a great idea

Watch the skin, it'll brown quicker with butter coating.
I do the same on all my birds but with Tony's
-
Looks good so far Tommy, will watch for this one

Well here it is, done and darn good!
Here it is 49 min's into the cook with an IT of 141
(http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt326/TMBs/InstantGourmetChicken010.jpg)
I pulled it at an IT of 162 and let it rest
(http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt326/TMBs/InstantGourmetChicken012.jpg)
I cut it up and it was just like I thought it would be JUICY!!!!

Now Kimmie said it was not good and couldn't see how I could eat that yardbird! She only made three trips back for more! ;)
Need I say more ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

You know I started to then I got busy cleaning the kicthen and forgot :-[ . Next butter/chicken I will.
Dang it , dang it , dang it that would have made kille soup :'( :'(
As good as the Instant Gourmet is and in soup it's that much better. I blew it :-\ :-\
-
thats a nice chicken. i like what you did do it. will have to try that.
-
That looks delicious! Make just a little more sauce and put in on the chicken as well as inside. Even under the skin.... Thanks for sharing... Phil
-
Now...all we need is for Miss Pam to post in the recipes section her secret Romanian Grandma's recipe for noodles.... ;)
-
Tommy - this is the first thing I saw when I logged into this site for the first time. I had already put my yardbird into a brine from Oakridge BBQ (Game Changer). However, when I saw this I decided to make half as much and to brush it on the outside. That turned out quite tasty too!
-
Looks great.
-
Great looking bird, Tommy!! Sounds like Kimmie has a few tricks up her sleeve. Better keep a close eye on her!

Not sure how I missed this before, but dang that looks good!

Sorry to revive the thread, but this looks too good not to try soon. At what heat setting did you set the SRG to and did you add smoke or just roast? Thanks Tommy, appreciate all the advice and help!

Cook on high with lid down little smoke rolling. Make sure you lift the lid around 130 IT so to crisp the skin

Absolutely beautiful boid! Hmmm--gonna do that ASAP--six to eight inches of snow everywhere right now and I'm too lazy to go out, sweep off the patio, uncover everything and try it right now.
-
Look delicious as usual Tommy. Is that a new SRG or did you do some cleaning....it sure looks shiny. ;D
-
Delicious looking bird, love the flavor injection. ;)
