Title: Delivery Backlog?
Post by: Smokefood on June 09, 2014, 09:52:32 AM

I'm excited, checking these forums daily, getting excited about what to cook on my PBC.

I ordered it about a month ago from Amazon and they said ~3 weeks.  I haven't heard anything and my credit card has yet to be charged.

Is there a back up with manufacturing and delivery of the PBC?

I'm excited they are becoming so popular but hopeful I can enjoy mine before Summer is out.

Yes there is a backlog and the Amazon website states 3-5 weeks for delivery.

Been backlogged for some time now. I had to cancel my order when I found that a retailer (100 miles away) had one in stock.
It was worth every mile. I'm bad at waiting for things.

I am sure it is frustrating to wait... It IS good news that PBC is really growing. But, I will tell you, it IS worth the wait. And I use mine all year round (Live in Minnesota.) Hang in there.

The waiting is so hard!  I am counting the days, we are officially at 4 weeks and no word.

I am thinking I will "learn" the PBC with chicken and ribs.

However, long term I see turkeys, pork butt and various 'peasant cuts' being the target.  I love seeing what people are doing with chuck roasts and country style ribs.

I also wonder if beyond pizza other breads can easily be made on the PBC?

I haven't tried or seen it - but sounds like an interesting idea. Look forward to your experiments.

Ive made bread in my solar oven at 200-250F or so,the lower temps make for a fine bread for some reason, bet PBC would make a fine bread, might want to cover dish its made in,ie,cloche or dutch oven?
