Just a thought, has anyone taken the temperature control off a junk SRG and put it on TBE? :-[

No, but I did put my own reg and control valve on the SRG. I used a Bayou Classic Hi pressure reg on there and it improved the operation dramatically.
All you really need is a basic valve if your trying to lower the heat. It would work very well for that.
In my case I was trying to increase it..

Of coarse I can't recommend you do the same because you could blow yourself up. Set the place on fire and any number of other negative outcomes.
