Title: Pit barrel cooker junior
Post by: irvin391 on February 26, 2018, 04:05:15 PM
I had this Pitmaster temp controller in the garage for about 4 yrs. that I had for another grill that I gave my niece and her husband didn't give the controller because I thought it might come in handy someday so decided to try it on the pit barrel the company that makes this is about 20 min. from my house and I seen the make an adapter for the pit barrel so I bought it cost was 20.00 put it on and run it at 275 for 2 hrs. then decided to turn it down to 250 and run it for 1 1/2 hrs. so then I  decide to turn it down to 225 and run it for 1 hr. worked great. also I had some lump that I wanted to try out.

  If it held 275 for two hours it should do well for a much longer cook. Will be interesting to see.
