Title: Drone test
Post by: RG on June 06, 2018, 04:32:54 AM
I got home from work early yesterday and decided to throw the drone in my tank bag and head to a local park to use one of their lesser used parking lots for a quick little test. I wanted to try the "tracking" mode of the drone to see how well it worked. I didn't record much as I felt like I was drawing too much attention, lol.

It's not food related but I hope you find it enjoyable, 2 friends of mine sent me some music to use so I threw it in there. The video is not post processed for color correction. I did downsample all of it to 40mbps at 30fps and trim it for time. Youtube of course butchers it from there. To be perfectly honest though, my editing software doesn't do 4K especially well. I have better software but it has a STEEP learning curve and I am comfortable with the one I use most often, so there ya go ;)

It is a cool toy, one I needed like a hole in the head but that's never stopped me before, lol!

I didn't get too much time with it but I will plan some stuff soon to stretch its legs, something worth sharing :P

Jason, that is a great tool to add to your video arsenal. Looks like it works perfectly.

Not sure on how well the obstacle avoidance works for that thing but you might want to be above the tree tops just in case.  ;)

It works pretty well but I don't want to chance it. As for being above tree tops, that's a no go for what I'd want to do with it (motorcycle chasing), as long as I have clear areas beside me it should work out. That video was just a test, I had it flying pretty low.

Better late than never, I don't know why I never saw your question! It can fly 45mph in sport mode BUT.....I no longer have the drone or the motorcycle, lol.

I've had some form of DJI drone since 2014. The only thing I can say is, "I love them, be prepared to crash one"
