I have a Bradley Digital 6-rack for low and slow cooks for ribs, butts and briskets and with cold smoke adapter I do cheese. I have a Weber Genesis with GrillGrates for steaks, chops, burgers, etc. I am thinking of getting a gas IR Big Easy to do chickens and turkeys.
Question: Is the Charbroil Gas IR Big Easy a good choice
Thanks in advance for the input and guidance

Hi..I would get the SRG..I have the TBE, SRG and BEESR..they all have their good points. The tbe has only one temperature. The SRG has a Hi and Low. And the BEESR is electric with variable temperatures. Ya can't make better birds than on these machines. Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ

The Big Easy i s a great choice. The SRG is even better if you can get one. Not only do they cook the best turkey and chicken they do a great job on baked potatoes, oysters, and just about anything you can name.
Tommy will come along and give some more info. He knows more about these two cookers than any one on the planet.

The only curve I can throw here is that CharBroil makes the Big Easy for Thermos as well.
if you find one with the Thermos name badge ( it will most likely be at a Big Lots ) it will have a hi and low dial. nice feature....and cheap price!

I don't know about the Thermos brand. However, I have the SRG and have used it for a few years. The best cooker for wings, poultry and taters I have ever found! My brother has the TBE and loves it, but given the choice would go for the SRG (actually I gave him TBE for Christmas - so he had no choice ;D )
I like my PBC for chickens - but the SRG is really the best for poultry, wings, and taters. In any block party, softball party or other gathering - everyone asks me to bring wings from the SRG.

Thanks to everyone for the input...looks like a SRG is the way to go for me...have a birthday coming up and have put the bug in the little lady's ear....along with a picture of the SRG on Amazon..ha....

I really like my SRG when feeling lazy and dont feel like messing with lump coal. Makes awesome seer marks on steak and pork chops and cooks just about anything. I find it difficult to get a chicken in and out of the rack. No regrets on my srg.

When you get hooked up, try some frozen wings in the Bradley, smoke till thawed, season and transfer to the SRG. Best you ever had!

I have two Big Easy's. One runs on natural gas and the other on LP gas for when I am camping. They are a great cooker and worth every penny ;)

I have 2 SRG's, 2 BEESR's and one large BigEasy. By far I use the SRG's more than the rest but I do use them all.
For the money the SRG is hard to beat and for the money you get a very good grill and a killer turkey/chicken fryer (no oil needed) You can do smoke added butts in a hurry that are hard to beat
Get the SRG, you will not be sorry

Thanks again to everyone....heading to the hospital for neck surgery....looking forward to a couple of weeks at home to do some smoking and grilling....
I will start looking for deals on the SRG

Good luck with the surgery, Kimmie and I will keep you in our prayers

Thanks for the prayers..they worked as I am home recovering nicely from a what seems to be a very successful surgery....I already have more lateral movement than I had before. I had 2 great neurosurgeons at the VA Hospital in Kansas City working on me ....came home and pulled a couple racks of spares put of the freezer to smoke up in the Bradley on Sunday....

Glad everything went good with your surgery Greg!! It's good you have some time off to recoup and do some bbqing. I'm still working on those pistachios ;)

Good to hear that your surgery went well. Looking forward to more cooks!
