Gander Mtn 9 in meat/food slicer
« Reply #-1 on: December 21, 2014, 11:11:14 PM »
Well got a chance to use the new meat slicer  ;)

Let me say it worked well and did a pretty good job.   When I found this unit It was going for 179.00 but found it on sell for 99.00 so I couldn't pass it up.

Now, I have used other cheaper slicers and was concerned about the 99.00 price.   Even a few here voiced there concerns,  but with the concave blade and heavy duty motor it sliced two roast without even getting warm.  The thickness adjustment knob is easy to set and the slide plate is smooth and easy to use.  The slices were even and smooth cut no rough cuts or rips.

For the price it's hard to beat, I give this one 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Here are a few slices of meat.

I do have a video of the slicing but having issues getting it up on YouTube

Nice looking beef. Did the marinade make any difference?

Well Tommy I watched the video and that sure looks like it slices a whole lot better than the Weston 9" I got a few years ago (the one we talked about).  It's the same slicer - sounds the same as yours - even had the same $99 "sale" price  :D.

The difference must be in that new concave blade design. I see that Weston now also has that same new concave blade, and it makes me wonder how much it would cost to order one for mine to improve its performance.

I have my used commercial slicer, which is great for slicing bacon, but dang it's one heavy sucker to get out set up.  It'd be nice to have the smaller slicer working right for smaller jobs.
