Turkey Breast
« Reply #-1 on: April 28, 2015, 01:34:12 PM »
A while ago the wife had got one of those pre-cooked/smoked turkey breasts at the store. I have been a little reluctant to cook it as I thought it would be dry with cooking/smoking it again. I couldn't have been more WRONG!!! This thing was the juiciest turkey breast I have ever ate, and even the left over sammie's for lunch today was still very moist!!!

Didnt do a whole lot with it, sprinkled some GMG Poultry seasoning on it, and stuck in the Pellet at 225* for most of the day. It was 168* when it was dinner times, pulled and most of it devoured. I am not sure where the heck they found a turkey that big at, but i will for sure being doing more of these!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks, I never knew there was something like that. Normally only eat wild turkey (or drink :) ).

Nice work!  That looks just the way I want mine to turn out but the two I tried were a bit dry.

Did the packaging indicate that it had been brined?

Darn good looking. I am a little surprised if it was pre-cooked, it held up to an all day cook without being dry. Was it partially pre-cooked or could you have sliced it up cold out of the package??

Not that I am aware of, but being how moist it was I was thinking the same.

The packaging was very vague, I looked all over it for cooking/heating instructions and it gave none. All it said on the outside was Smoked Turkey Breast, and judging by the outside texture I thought it was cooked. How much it was cooked I have no idea.
