I have been watching the progress of a new restaurant that is opening in downtown Wapak. It sounds interesting because it will have a wood fired kitchen. It was looking like it was getting near completion so I stopped in to take some photos of it today. I met the young chef who is opening it. It is called J Maries Wood Fired Kitchen + Drinks.

They have kept the integrity of the old front and entrance of the building; the old Italian glass marquee, carved wood bolsters on each side and the tile entrance way. Some of the Italian glass squares were broken but they were able to find some old antique ones that matched to replace them.

The inside is looking nice with the wood floors and walls and the two wood fired brick ovens are pretty impressive setting out in the open. It looked like they were getting the kitchen installed and they have some finishing to do on the bar. I will be glad when they are open and serving food.

I will try to get back and update after they are open with some photos and tell about the menu and food. It is pretty easy to find off of I75.

Looks pretty cool Don. I hadn't seen that yet, I don't get out much. Next you'll have to check out the new sushi place that's coming pretty close to your house.
