Hello! My name is Chris and I've been cooking and smoking since I was a kid sooooooo......yeah about 32 years? Ughhhh....I shouyuld have left that out! I have no good reason why I have not been a member here yet. But I DO plan to contribute to make up for it. Whether that's worth anything is totally not up to me. LOL!!!

Hey Chris - WELCOME!

Where..."near Asheville" are you? I am in Brevard. Some of us get together on occasion and have lunch at any BBQ joint that seems to be worthwhile in the area.

I'm from Old Fort, but nobody knows where that is so we all get used to saying "near Asheville". LOL!! I use the range at Bear Arms from time to time. And my wife and I are NEVER against going out and eating!!

You are in friendly territory here. I know where Black Mtn. is and also frequent Bear Arms. Will have have a WNC Social and see who all we can gather up.

From Charlotte to Brevard there are some good choices. Bridges is good! If you like decent brisket JD's Smokehouse in Rutherford College is about as good as you can get in a restaurant around here IMO.....but I'm not the biggest fan of their other meats. Out towards you is the Wood Room and Hubba Hubba. I am a pretty big fan of the honey monk, but Lexington is a pretty decent haul.
