Now that the "LIST" is done Kimmie said I need an outdoor kitchen!!
« Reply #-1 on: June 24, 2013, 11:38:00 AM »
Now that I made Kimmie happy by building her, her iron gate, cleaning out the my garage, cleaning out her garage, redoing the deck in the back yard, finishing the wood fence out front and other things that had to be done she said, you need an outdoor kitchen so lets tear down the deck and pool (both were messed up real bad by the tornado 2 years ago).

We waited to see if we wanted another pool and didn't want to remove the old one so as not to mess the ground up and have to pay 1000.00 to have it redone.

So we removed the deck Sunday and Kimmie is having the pool removed as I type this from work  :D :D :D\

This will be an ongoing thread on how I will build it so be patient this will take a few months (if not a year  :-X :-X ) to complete
Any ideas would be great, I'll give you the basic lay out tonight but for now here are a few pictures of the old pool and whats left of the deck.

I want a fire place and thinking of a pizza oven on the side. Counter top space and storage for tools and cooler space.

Please feel free to give ideas but cost is a factor :(  so get your thinking caps on

Pool was 24' round so I have about 35' X 35'  foot to work with if not a little more

Kimmie said the pool is gone!!!   So there is one tough job out of the way, now I need to remove the rocks and boarder around where the pool was so I can start to plan the cooking/fireplace  area

I would save all the rock bed from the pool
in case you decide to form up for a poured slab
it will make a great base under the slab
I was wondering if those would be good for that.   We are going to pour a slab then build a pole barn sorta building with the fireplace blocking the west side (so no sun light will bother us)  I hope to build a 24' x 30' shelter.

I have water and power right there so that's already done just need to figure out what I want to do with the kitchen part of this.  Kimmie di say she wanted a few swings in the idea + a fire pit so we can sit around it & that's away from the frieplace

That will be a lot of fun Tommy.  If I were building an outdoor kitchen, the two things I would like to have "built in" would be a cinder block pit and a large flat top grill.

If it were me I would figure in a solution for some shade. I last about 15 minutes in direct sunlight ???

I want a shelter so I can cook in the rain or sunshine + we can have friends over during the winter and hang plastic sheets up and have a fire in the fire place to keep it warm inside.  I do have a Buck stove insert I may want to add to the fire place that thing really gets the heat going

No pool? Did you say no pool?    Man i could not live without my pool..........but it is another labor of love!

When I had a boat I brought my blow up pool to the dock. If i could get water to the stadium I would bring it to the games for tailgating. last year I spent six hours in a pool at a pool party. :'(  The only reason i came out at all is to make fries in my fryer. ;D Well i did come out to P__ too.
