May God Bless this mighty Repulic......
« Reply #-1 on: July 04, 2013, 08:46:30 AM »
On this beautiful July 4th morning, I say to all- "Enjoy the day, with family, with fireworks, with our favorite beverage, and the FREEDOMS that she brings to us. Remember to stop and thank our Heavenly Father for the blessings that he has given us. Thank those who serve and protect us, here and abroad! Remember those who gave their all, so that we could live to enjoy this day.

My favorite americans...explaining the meaning of today!

Thank you to all the good friends I have made here and again, may we all enjoy this day and bring it reverance!

I forgot about this song till researching for the music above..... For those who served during the Vietnam War and were so disrespected when they returned.....I cannot make up for those ignorant asses back in the day....but to every man and woman who served...I will stand and salute you today and let you know that I truly appreciate your service and you have nothing but my most up respect and love for your service!!!!!!!! I did not know the history of this song either until watching this video; Wow, not just a song!

Good post. Pictures brought back memories.  I had some folks serving with me over the years who made that jump.  Dee

Great post.

P.S. Thanks Smoke for adding Merle!  If we ever meet, I suspect we are going to listen to a whole lot of Hagg that day.

Great post.

Centuries from now, when we are all extinct and a higher life form comes to Earth and they look up Country Music, all they need is a picture of Merle and that will explain it all........

This is the first time I have had the time to sit and go through the songs on this post, thanks Dan and Smoke. The 4th of July is the day we celebrate the founding of this great country (thanks Dan for calling it a Republic instead of a democracy) but we also remember all those men and women who have kept us free and allowed us to enjoy that freedom for over 200 years. We all know to thank the military who have fought to keep us free but we also need to remember those who serve here at home, the police, firefighters and first responders and all of those who put their lives on the line to protect us every day.
