I never heard any vacuum.....or did I miss it?  Can't believe it is silent. Also, was the thing plugged in? Never saw a cord.

I do love crowd funding.....

I am not sure that it is silent - just because of the mechanics of how all the other vacuums work...but - who knows? The thing I like is no more "stink eye" from the Mrs. who would be a "minimalist" when it comes to kitchen countertops....if not for me ( Mr. Gadget  ;D )This thing is not ugly, and the main unit can be the bread box. I like that. I throw out too many baked goods....

lol, I guess I'm an old timer - my first thought when initially watching the video was an old I Love Lucy episode: "vita-meata-vegamin"  Not sure why I thought of this; maybe the lack of power cord and lack of motor noise as Pappy suggests, or maybe a glass of wine too many this evening  ;D

Because of the solid nature of the containers, trying to freeze steaks would gobble up too much of my freezer space.  While I think the system certainly has it's niche, I don't think I'll give up my FoodSaver.  However, keeping baked or other goods under vacuum at room temperature is a great idea.  ;)

If I didn't already have a quality vacuum sealer and a marinating machine, I might be willing to get one.  Can't justify spending on anything like this, right now.

I bought the Cabela's CG-15 Vacuum Sealer and the Countertop Tumbler from Todd at A-Maze-N Products.  Hope this helps.

Ditto on Art's choices. I have kept my old Food Saver - but also use my CG-15 for most of the sealing work. It is a tank. And parts are readily available.

I love the vacuum tumbler from Todd @ Amazen Products as well. Great tool!
