Memphis BBQ Company
« Reply #-1 on: April 28, 2014, 11:34:25 PM »
On our way back from Que Du Smoke we stopped in Memphis for a couple days to eat some ribs.  We did four joints in 20hrs. Out of the four we both agreed that the Memphis BBQ Company was the best of the four.

We asked our server if the owner, Melissa Cookston was ever there.  She told us she's there everyday unless she's filming or competing and seconds later she walked by our table and said hello.  We got a full slab 1/2 wet and 1/2 dry.  They didn't disappoint that for sure.

She's not a 3 time world champion for nothing.  We also tried the cheese ball appetizer that was on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.  They were awesome too.  Next time your passing through Memphis give her a try, it's right off I-55

Sounds like a great time.  Last time I was there was before she had started showing up on TV.

Bam, I've eaten there several times, and I love it, but I didn't know she was a world class BBQ champion. I am gonna look for her book and buy it.
