Sandmans Philly Cheese Steak
« Reply #-1 on: June 06, 2014, 12:52:33 AM »
Jun 05 2014

I let the wife know pretty early it was her turn to cook today. I had the yard to trim and mow and then got two outdoor tables painted. We are babysitting the grandson, but he is no trouble. He is either playing with friends in the neighborhood or like today has his nose in pc games or the TV.

The wife is getting pretty efficient fixing a variety of food for us. She just takes everyone’s request; calls Sandman’s Beer & Wine Depot and twenty minutes later drives two blocks and picks it up! She even timed it so it was ready when the daughter in law came from work. Grandson had a pepperoni cheese pizza, the wife had a broccoli pizza, the daughter in law had a veggie salad. I had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich; thin sliced rib eye steak smothered in onions, mushrooms and cheese, and some tater tots.

Sandman’s Philly Cheese Steak is so good I don’t know why I would make my own. I can only eat half if I eat any sides. Tonight I had the tater tots with salt and parmesan cheese, a slice of the grandson’s pizza and some of my kimchi. Mighty tasty and I was full!!!

Looks really good, Don - I'd need to make my own because we do not have any  places around here that make sandwiches like that!

He does turn out some good food and cooks and makes most meats, sauces and pizza dough in house. His pizza with his homemade bacon and sausage is delicious! Don

Can we have some more detail on how to make that cheesesteak?  My wife loves them and I can use all the brownie point opportunities I can get.  Dee

Pretty much just slice the beef as thin as possible without it crumbling. It slices better if partially frozen. We just season with salt and pepper. Cook the meat till no pink. Then cook diced onions and mushrooms in the juices from the meat. Put it all together on top of a bun and top with cheese. I need to hire Donny as my advertising consultant!
