I just could not swing the 22 or 26 as an upgrade on my 18.5 Weber Charcoal.......but I could afford the hinged cooking grate.
It is always fun getting a box https://www.walmart.com/ip/39601566 no matter the cost.
It does three things for me.
It allows me to have two grates.
It allows me to do some cold searing.
The new one allows me to add or move the charcoal around.
Anyway I love it.

Not sure I understand the 1st 2 things this grate will allow you to do... you'll now have 2 grates? Cold searing? Curious to hear you elaborate a bit :)

Sorry but from my boating days I always like a backup LOL
So two grates gives me a backup. (Safety in number lol)
As far as the second grate for cold searing it would allow me by rotation to have a cold grate at all times as I have two. Yes I could do it on one but since I have the second it would be faster. http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=19892.0
