Title: GMG Davy Crockett Tailgate unit Stand
Post by: smoker pete on January 04, 2014, 05:19:46 PM
In my old age I don't stoop down like I used to 30+ years ago!  :(   :D  ...  so I quickly learned that I need something to put my Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett on.  It is off the ground but not quite to the level that I would prefer.

Found an easy solution at Home Depot online.  My local Home Depot stores do not carry this size.  The Davy Crockett is like 24" x 24" but it needs a little breathing room.  Online they carry a 30" x 30" Galvanized Steel Water Heater Stand that's just perfect and the shipping was free.

I prefer to always cover my units when not in use but GMG does not have a cover or carrying case for the Davy Crockett yet.  So I improvised and am using my Camp Chef 3 burner stove canvas carrying bag.  Looks a little funky but it's very funtional  ;D

Sweet set up.  Maybe a couple of U clamps that would keep it secure while cooking and could be easily removed for transit ??

It's actually fairly stable but a couple of U clamps can't hurt anything.  I don't own any clamps but I can look into finding a couple.

That'll work.  I would definitely make sure to secure it.  You never know when something is going to bump the table.
