I am in the market to purchase a decent digital grill thermometer. My requirements are at least two probes, wireless, and has an alarm. Obviously more accessories do not hurt but those three listed are key. Currently I use a built in grill thermometer and non digital meat probe. After doing some research online I have narrowed it down to two choices. Does anyone have any experience with these devices? Any better suggestions out there? Is the price range $69.99-99.99 way to much for a grill thermometer? Any help would be much appreciated.

I am in the Polder camp but people swear by Maverick.

Don't know much about the IGrill2 but the Maverick has never let me down. Some of our site sponsors sell them and you may get a deal as a member of LTBBQ.

I love my Maverick ET732! Don

I have 2 sets of Maverick 732's. No problems at all!

I also have two sets of the et-732's.

Maverick. Pick up extra probes too. I've read the igrill is pretty hit and miss. Check out Thermoworks too. They make the best thermometers, maybe they have a remote one now

Never had a problem with my Maverick... but 9 times out of ten, I use my Thermapen Lollipop - I don't worry too much about the pit temp just look at the food temp.

I'm in the Maverick camp as well. I've been using mine for several years and have only had one probe go bad. I recently started using a Cyber-Q and, just ot make sure, backed up their probes with one of my Mavericks. Spot on.
The worst part has been that I lost one of my grill probe clips and haven't seen anywhere you can buy a couple of extra clips ! ! ! !

I love my Maverick 733, and I also use a Thermopop .... this combo makes my life so much easier!

Maverick 733 - and get the 6 ft probes! They make a world of difference in keeping your base station out of the heat and bad weather.
And...smack Rob around - get him back on LTBBQ ;D

I have a Maverick 733 along with an older model, 72 I think? The 733 has never lost the signal, the older one I would drop signal walking through the house. I also have a thermapen that I use once the maverick says I'm close.

X2 on the six foot probes. I didn't and am regretting it. They are on my short list.

The maverick is rock solid. I have several of them. I heard they are making a new version that is supported by wifi or Bluetooth and apps like the igrill. I don't know if it is out yet or not.
The new igrill had battery issues from what I heard. I don't know if those problems were fixed or not.

Most folks use Mavericks - I bought an iGrill2 thinking it would work with my windows computer but it doesn't - I guess I would be using it alot

I have no experience with the iGrill but I did purchase the Maverick recently and can't say enough about it. I find it easy to set/use and the range is great - I take the remote upstairs at night for my overnight cooks and it has performed perfectly. It does seem to chew up batteries fairly fast but well worth it for the accuracy and ease of use.

Wow! I can't remember when I last put batteries in mine. Are you using Alkalines?

Same here. Don't remember ever having to replace the batteries in mine. I have ET73 and ET733 models. The 73 has much more limited range than the 733. That's the reason I have both. I did get 6 foot probes for the 733 and recommend them highly. The cheapest source I have found for them is A-maze-n. Todd is a sponsor here and has great prices, products and service.

I have the ET733 - I use Duracell batteries. I have had the unit for about three months and am on the second set of batteries in the remote.
