Title: Question for Blackstone griddle owners (or anyone with smarts)

Just finished putting my Blackstone 28 griddle together and have a question.
Does anyone know what this is and more importantly, what the heck it is used for?

Mine has been assembled for 5 years now, I think the legs fold under and those lock them in place for easy transport.............
