Title: Taste of up north comes south (thanks to RG)
Post by: DWard51 on June 14, 2017, 09:04:40 PM
Woo Hoo!!!!!!

A big thanks to RG who passed on that a Publix near both of us now carries Sahlen's hot dogs.  I picked up a couple of packs and you know whats on the menu tonight.  Going low carb so I can only have 2 and no bun, but this is something I have missed for years.  I just hope the memory matches my old grey taste buds now....

Oh, and right next to the Sahlen's hot dogs they had this northen staple which I have never tried.  Read plenty of posts about the legendary Taylor Pork Roll, so of course I had to buy that also.  It goes on the griddle top this weekend.

Try making some cloud bread.  It works great for Hot dog buns, and almost no carbs.

I wish I could get Taylor ham roll here. I've never tried it before.

Glad to help out brother.  I am born and raised in Georgia but apparently I have Yankee taste buds,  those dogs are awesome! Thank goodness my buddy from Buffalo turned me on to them. Best dog around imho.

I finally remembered the name of the restaurant where we first had them in Forest Park.  It was the original Mo-Joe's on Jonesboro Rd.  Never heard of Buffalo wings back then either and that was before they were everywhere.  I'm talking like 1986'ish.
