Hi from Santa Cruz!
I just joined the dark side. Went from being a gas grill kind of guy for years to charcoal, now that I got myself a wonderful Weber Performer. I love this thing! Looking forward to chatting BBQ with all of you! Great forum!!

Not only did you join the dark side, you also went to where all the good flavor is  :thumbup:  Gas is heat only. Charcoal is heat and flavor :thumbup: :thumbup:

Welcome from Northern Cali.  I was born and raised in lots Gatos and santa cruz.  In the sixties I use to hitch hike over hwy 17 with my surf board.  Jumped off the cliff like 1000 times.  We go camping at sunset every year.  Been going camping there since I was 5 or so.  Great place to live.

I, too, was a gasser for years. After joining this forum I have expanded to charcoal and wood as well as sous vide.

I have just received a Rotisserie kit for the Kettle and hope to have it spinning this afternoon.

I hope you have a stash of cash nearby because all of the things these guys use will grab you.
