Title: Two Tri tips
Post by: flbentrider on December 15, 2012, 09:54:30 PM
The Mrs saw tri-tip at the local grocery. She picked up two. I think I'll keep her.

One rubbed with "salt lick" and the other with JH Raspberry Chipotle

On the MAK 2 star with a mixture of BD Oak and wine-soaked oak, temp set to SMOKE

After an hour and a half

After that I moved them to the warming area, set the MAK to HIGH and installed grill grates

Man, I never get tired of seeing good tri tip. It gets me every single time.

Randy have you ever cooked one Brisket style?  Knowing how nice the bark on your briskies turn out, I can only imagine how good that would be.

I have not. I have been treating them like steak. If I see them at RD I might pick up a couple and try that. I don't do a  lot of experimenting at $6.99 and $8.99 /lb
