Interesting I guess but seems sort of a one-trick pony.  I guess direct and indirect heat are less of an issue since nothing drips into the coals but I don't see any ability to control temp at all.  Also looks like you have to completely fill it with charcoal even if you only want to do a couple of burgers or dogs.

That did look like a lot of charcoal wasted.

Looks like you can cook up to 4 burgers at the time.

Now way would I want to use matchlight  ???    Also the amount of wasted charcoal would add up fast (even for Smoke & Smoochy)

I can't see anyway there would be a benefit from this grill.  Now if they would send me one to test (then modify)  I would test it for the site ;)

I thought you would have liked the burger holder, Tommy...  ;)

I'd guess you could start regular charcoal in a chimney starter and add it to the cooker. However, I still see little to recommend it.

I have 5 fo them, but the cooker I could do without.

I didn't think the burgers looked all that great

So I can put food in the grill and have it done at the same time I am done working out with my shake weight!! (http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc469/s1cott11/funny%20icons/yikes.gif) (http://s1213.photobucket.com/user/s1cott11/media/funny%20icons/yikes.gif.html)

Repeat after me " But wait, order now and receive -3- more grills free, just pay separate shipping and handling!!"

just joshing y'all, that grill has great possibilities for camping and tailgating, or even for an apartment dweller that is not allowed a full size grill..............

If I remember right, the restaurant that claims to  invented the hamburger ( I think it is in MA) used a vertical grill like that except it was gas.  Of course, it couldn't use charcoal as Henry Ford  had not invented it yet.
Did you notice how they spelled "flair up"  rather than "flare up"?

The reason why I found this is because I was looking at making my own horizontal burger broiler like the one you saw on the show Dee. Gonna make mine natural gas. Water tray on the bottom.

Was looking at a couple infrared burners but might just make some burners from black pipe. Will be a simple design that will use a burger basket like his design.

That thing would be ok if you were continually grilling burgers for a couple hours. That is a lot of charcoal for just a couple burgers however. But a gas unit makes sense. Just turn it on when you need it.

if you went gas you probably wouldn't need the water pan in the bottom for ashes.

Why not just use your Big Easy?  I have done burgers this way for years!

Tommy it is direct flame contact. The burners are just inches away. If you saw the video that Dee was talking about you would understand.

Here is what the broiler looks like...

And no ketchup allowed at this place whose name I can't remember. Believe it is in CT

Looks like a Ron Popeil knockoff of the original hamburger cooker at Louis' Lunch. Like Dee said it is a gas cooker. Funny I just got through watching a show on the Travel Channel of the greatest burger joints in America and Louis' was on there as the first hamburger ever cooked in America.
