I sure would like to go to one of those events just to chat with other Old Smokey cookers. The uppity sort in the Bay Area don't want anything to do with this tin bucket cooker. If some of these folks that have scorched stuff in Weber's and BGE's they might take a look but the wifey says it's to ugly to put on our beautiful patio. I have one at home, one at work and will probably get another one for backup on big Carne Asada cooks cause they do the Tortillas just right due to the increased height from the heat. Most folk want to feel something substantial in a cooker, not going to get that here. It is what it is, but for 70 bucks, what the hey!

Every time I get "excited" about a fancy cooker, I call up a Jamie Oliver video - - to remind me it is about the cook not the cooker. The UK version of BBQ Pit Boys. Yep, I love my cookers and enjoy what they can do, but then I remind myself it is what we DO with the cookers not what they do.
