What is the criteria for earning a Ph.B??

One must be nominated to candidacy, but one must still do a lot of work!  It involves writing a Dissertation (30 page minimum, mine was 60) on an approved topic (mine was original research on judge attitudes and behaviors).  Then there is a six or seven question written exam that is very philosophical about barbeque origins, techniques, differences, etc. by societal segment plus questions about current trends in the industry and sport.  Finally, there is an oral examination/defense of Dissertation before a panel of Ph.B's.  There are about two dozen Ph.B's extant.  The ones I know are some of the founding "mothers and fathers" of KCBS plus a cadre of writers and chefs.  I am incredibly honored to be included in such a group and so titled.

so, since your a DR in bbq I'm thinking you know a lot about bbq in a lot of subjects.  I'm thinking you should throw a party?     your should be a h#ll of a cook.     I think it is so cool your have your PH.B.  I'm sure am glad your my friend and I can pm ya for any bbq problem I have.  and I have and many times.  we are all lucky you hang out her Dr Hub.
