CAB Tri-Tip
« Reply #-1 on: August 09, 2012, 01:07:19 PM »
I was looking in the freezer for dinner yesterday, cause Momma said she wanted BEEF for dinner. Found me a CAB Tri-Tip roast just a setting there. So I said to myself.  This looks good, but its frozen and won't be thawed in time for dinner. Who cares through it on the Dragon Lady frozen. Sounds good let's do it! Was the conversation that followed.

Looked around and found this to season the frozen rock

Threw the TT in the Dragon Lady after seasoning.

2 1/2 hours later I went to check on the progress and it was already at 151ยบ IT. Time to pull and FTC

After an hour and a half of FTC. I opened it up and found this

Did a little slicing

Fixed up a plate with some extra fixins Mixed Veggies, Hash browns with cheese, and Cantaloupe along with a glass of Moo Juice. LIFE IS GOOD!!

Nice smoke ring!

I've smomked them to 130, then sliced thin and tossed in a crock pot of Italian beef fixins to cook the bejeebers out of them.   Still tender.

It's an amazing cut of meat..
