Pressure Cooker Un-Stuffed Cabbage in Sweet and Sour Tomato Sauce
« Reply #-1 on: February 08, 2015, 08:09:15 PM »
Once assembled and brought up to pressure this recipe takes all of 5 minutes to cook!  It tastes darn near as good as stuffed cabbage but with 1/3 of the work! And it tastes like it was cooking all day!
First the meatballs, made of ground beef and pork,  rice, onion, garlic, parsley, eggs, and S & P. Mixed up good and formed into 1" balls. The cabbage got shredded and  1/2 was layered with 1/2 the meatballs two times and a vinegar/water/sugar concoction was added, and on top tomatoes, carraway, raisins and dill were added. Sealed up the cooker and once up to pressure,  5 minutes took us to meal time! This was served with pumpernickle bread buttered ala Smokin Don-style!
Grab a plate and pull up a chair there's plenty!  ;D

Hikerman..you have a newer type pressure cooker. Looking good tho. I have the old , old ones. But they work. I make unstuffed cabbage rolls too. takes a lil longer and a lil different, but very good. I can only make it in a 6 quart cooker, so there is always bunches.  Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Someplace in this home is a pressure cooker that I use exclusively as single parent for fast dinners.

This cook looks good and I will show it to Sweetie who is the inside cook. Looks like some work.

Making the meatballs was the biggest task, but it took only 15 minutes or so.

OK, Sweetie is going to give it a shot with the exception of raisins.

Thanks for posting it.

That looks great! Not sure the raisins would fly here (although they sound good to me) but this looks like a quick weeknight dinner. Bookmarked. Thanks!

Maybe you could get one with a Charbroil emblem on it and tell her it's just another infrared cooker. ::) :P
