TMB inspired quick burnt ends
« Reply #-1 on: July 24, 2018, 12:08:34 PM »
Tommy inspired me to make some burnt ends with his recent post. I bought a small pork shoulder and a ribeye.  Cut them in 1 " chunks.
Seasoned with Maple Bourbon seasoning and put them on the the Kettle.
I made some BBQ sauce with Coke,  Brown Sugar, garlic, Crystal hot sauce, Worchester, honey and Sweet Baby Rays original as the base.
These turned out pretty well for the first time. I'll post some pic tonight.
I need to make another batch now to tune up my process a little.
I think I'll sear a whole steak next time then cut it up and put in the pan. The flavor of the beef in this is so good..
I think I will get a more tender result this way.  Picana would be excellent like this I believe.
I am cooking for a birthday party this weekend so I'm going to make a batch then and see how they go over.  I've got 20 lbs of chicken and 20 lbs of ribs that will be on anyway.
