Rudy's sure has growed some in the last 25 years. I used to go to their first (and then only) store in Leon Springs whenever I visited my parents in San Antonio. As I recall, the brisket and ribs were decent and the sausage very good.
I survived a lot of the "bad years" when Hawaii had a singular lack of culinary diversity by bringing home Rudy's sauce, Elgin hot guts, and boxes full of Taco Cabana tortillas.
