Mike (High On Smoke) and I have been friends for a few years now. We "met" on the forum. He lives about 150 southeast of us and has graciously come up to visit when we have the cookouts with Bremer. He is always so helpful and he is a "cookin' fool" the whole time. I have learned a lot from him even though he is much younger than I am.
Today, when the mailman lady got here, she had a box for us - it was marked "FRAGILE - GLASS". I'm wondering what has Deb ordered now?
Turns out to be a gift from Mike and Bev. As we took it out of the bubble wrap they had so carefully wrapped it in, we couldn't believe what we were seeing. It was so special and unique. It is not often that I come up short with words, but today was the day. Before I could speak, my eyeballs almost started to sweat. I choked.
Bev made this one-of-a-kind lamp just for me. I am overwhelmed. It is quite evident that this took a lot of thought and was carefully arranged. It is AWESOME!
In addition to that, Mike sent along a large jar of "The Gospel" all-purpose rub from Meat Church BBQ. Seems I had asked him about some of the rubs he uses because his cooks are always over the top. He remembered my asking and sent it to me. What a guy!!
Some of you newbies out there keep this in mind...if you are willing, you can make some great friends here. If you can find folks who are within 3 or 4 hours drive and you have an opportunity to get together, DO IT! We have had some great times together and made friendships from across the miles.
Oh, the lamp??? Lemme see if I can post it here.
