Somebody lied to you... I’ve had the old style, in grey, for years. Based on years of hands on experience, I guarantee you it’s faster than all of the other color options!!!!!! :)

Don't listen to these folks The NY Jet British Racing Green is that fastest one by far.  It is so fast my wife did not see I bought one ??? ??? ???

Safe to assume you are suggesting that I can't live without the SRG and a red Thermapen?  Is there anything else I need to add to my shopping list before I break the news to my wife?  Wouldn't mind if you told me I can't live without a MAK 3 Star (then we can both take the heat when I break the news) ;)

Well, when there is an M-A-K in front of those 3 stars, that changes everything ;)
