masterbuilt gravity fed series
« Reply #-1 on: April 27, 2020, 02:05:38 AM »
One of the fallouts of being quarantined is that I have been thinking about getting a new toy. Does anyone know the differences between the 1050 and the 560 and is it worth the extra $300?

Without looking I'd say it's the cooking area, 1050 sq/in vs. 560 sq/in.

So 490 more sq/in bigger. I'd say that makes it worth the extra $300.00 but the 560 may be all the cooking area you need, it's what Jaxon has.

Yup the 1050 is the square inches.

It is the same width as the 560 but the smoking chamber is taller. Pretty neat, almost vertical.

I returned my 560 to get the 1050.

I hadn't unboxed it yet.

I went back to Fleet Farm to kick the tires on the display and have decided against getting one.

The Masterbuilt "quality" is apparent to me.

Not hating but I just do not think  IMHO that it is built for the long haul...…………….

But that is just my take on things, I could be dead wrong.

Do you feel the quality issue is in both versions?

Not seeing the 1050 I could not honestly answer but I feel the quality and materials will be the same.

Just a taller smoking chamber.

I could be wrong on the durability. I do like thick metal cookers.

With proper care, it could last a while  :)

WOW!!!  I might need new glasses.

After glancing at the title, I had to look again.  I thought it said, masterbuilt GRAVY fed series!"

Picked up my 560 smoker's bigger brother, 1050 yesterday. Too dark now for pics, but being taller, it's also deeper. I'll put one of the 560's grills on top of a 1050 grill tomorrow for comparison. It's decidedly bigger.
Also did this right off the bat. Found on Etsy, a printed fascia that perfectly holds a Fireboard controller and fits in the Masterbuilt controller hole

I just read Meathead Goldwyn's testing review of the Masterbuilt 560. They gave it their Platinum Award. It would appear that it's a pretty solid machine.

Looked at one yesterday at Bass Pro. Must've been the smaller one as it sure didn't look big. Didn't even look at the model or price.
Pretty cool! Might have to consider one after they're out a bit longer.
