cooking for friends, pt 2
« Reply #-1 on: June 29, 2013, 02:09:13 AM »
my neighbor's son (matt) across the street up at the cabin cut the tip of his finger off that afternoon on a Friday afternoon.  on Saturday morning I was outside cooking up some bacon and he (matt) comes over and want's some bacon (his moms not cooking).  welp, I go get the cast iron on fire up the weber kettle and we fry up some eggs w/ our bacon and eat on the front porch.  nice.  I ask him if I there is anything I could do to make his hand feel better.  ya, he says.  ya know those ribs you brought over to my parents.  I only got 1 bone off that rack.  my own rack of ribs would really help ease my pain.  lol, ya right.  I'll trade ya some ribs for a vicodin.  lol.....  just kidding (I never take drugs from children).  so ribs will make ya feel better buddy.  no problem.  I got ya covered.  your have them before 5 pm.

finally, lets cook.

fired up little blackie to 275°.

I had a rack of baby backs and a rack of spares that I cut the tips of off.  marinaded the tips in teriyaki sauce.

I love tim's FSB (I use it on pork, beef, chicken, fish and veges.  love this stuff.  really love it on my ribs) and some bone suckin sauce.

onto the mak @ 275°.

the tips I sprinkled some sweet money on them.

took each rack and cut them in half.  half went dry and half w/ foil.

busted out the good stuff (my NC honey).

coming out of FL.

a little rufus for my sauce.

looking good maynard.

i'm very pleased.

off they go to matt.  I hope he likes them.

it does too look like 2 racks there.  my wife says I ate some.  nah, I wouldn't do that dear.  it would be rude to eat someone else's food like that.   ::)

Sparky,  Don't it make you feel good that you have a skill that you love to share that makes other people feel good?  Dee
