Dickey's BBQ
« Reply #-1 on: August 05, 2013, 06:41:04 PM »
Went to pick my wife up from work.

Hey lets go try Dickey's

Help yourself bbq sauce

My wife got the chopped brisky tater.

I got the 2 meat/2 side platter/ribs/brisky/jalapeno beans/brunswick stew

Chopped brisky. Brought this home.

So for a BBQ chain this was pretty good.

I have eaten at DICKEY'S ...ONCE!  I had 2 coupons for a free bbq sandwich.   Didn't go back...gave the other coupon to somebody (I hope they aren't mad at me)

I'm no bbq snob (duh), but I didn't care for the pulled pork sandwich he made while I watched.  He scooped out and measured the pork for proper weight.  Then, he commenced to shaping the meat into a neat little pile, all the while mashing it kind of flat as I watched all the juice being pressed out.  He go it piled neatly onto a bun and it looked nice, but it was dry and didn't have much bbq flavor to it.  Thankfully they have those little barrels full of sauce so you can add your own flavor and moisture back into the meat.

I hope your experience is better.  B T W, each store is individually owned and operated.  Taste, etc may vary by location.

Like Jaxon, I ate there once.  One opened in Augusta, ME last May and it was gone before the end of December.  I believe that speaks bunches.

I think (according to a friend who has been there) that refers to buying a whole chunk of meat to go...

We have one near me and we eat there for lunch every few weeks or so. I prefer what comes off of my pit but it is fine for the occasional lunch. My kids love it but I think that has more to do with the free ice cream...
