Hawaiian style Rice and Steak
« Reply #-1 on: August 27, 2013, 10:55:18 PM »
Fry the spam

Add some leftover rice and slowly stir it in on medium heat

Fry some cabbage in Dah butter, mix it in :) Do some sliced carrots same way as cabbage.

Scramble some eggs and mix them in too, Add pepper and soy sauce to taste.

Almost done

Pan fry a little steak

Dish up the Hawaiian rice, slice your steak and enjoy. That's Sriracha sauce on the steak  :)

Good stuff Maynard :)

We don't serve "Hawaiian style rice" in Hawaii so I don't know if that's it or not.  Usually a recipe becomes "Hawaiian" with the (often disgusting) addition of canned pineapple and sometimes Spam. Since yours doesn't have pineapple, I'd have to call it Spam fried rice.  I don't know that I've ever seen fried rice made with butter (vegetable and/or sesame oils are more "standard") but I don't know why you couldn't do it,  That's the beauty of fried rice - as long as it's fried and has rice in it, it's authentic (with or without peas).
Everyone is entitled to my opinion

Your right, but it reminds me of the years I lived in Kahala working as a servant for the rich and famous... That's a long story :)
