RV trips in the west - World Museum of Mining - Butte, Montana

I love to visit old mining areas, and the World Museum of Mining in Butte is a favorite of mine.  They have preserved a huge segment of mining history in this sprawling area.

Here's an old dilapidated small mining steam engine

The sunset was beautiful

The museum started giving underground tours of the Early Girl

The miner is demonstrating how blasting the tunnel face was done

The Early Girl head frame

An interesting old truck

Looks like a monster!

This one is certainly weather-worn

That weathered wood on the wagon is the same you can find on old barns and makes beautiful picture frames.  Dee

Thanks guys!

That weathered wood on the wagon is the same you can find on old barns and makes beautiful picture frames.  Dee

About 20 years ago a couple of hunters were roughing it in the North Idaho forest, and came across the remains of an old Conestoga wagon.  While the canvas was in tatters, it was still full of the owners possessions.
