It's a long weekend and usually we get away for a few days and head up to New Glarus,WI. It's a little town predominately of Swiss people, and as a result the architecture and food are Swiss as well. It's a great get-away spot, as they make some of the world's best beer there,(New Glarus) and the food (Swiss/German) is to die for. This town is reminiscent of Switzerland, (minus the Swiss Alps) as there are rolling green pastures, and dairy cows everywhere. This is America's dairy land as more cheese is made in Green county than anywhere in North America.
My dearest felt homesick for New Glarus so she wanted Swiss cheese fondue for dinner tonight. I was happy to oblige. I made a loaf of rye bread in the breadmaker, had a glass of spatlese, and we were off cooking the fondue. It was very good, wish you could have joined us!
