Walked to Charlie's , it's the oldest steakhouse in New Orleans & 7th oldest resturant in NOLA.
It's located 2 blocks off the trolley line in uptown.
No Menu , only a wine list ???
Only appetizer is onion rings.
Only entree steaks , 16 & 32 oz porterhouse, 10 oz filet, 18 oz ribeye & 16 oz strip.
Sides are au gratin potatoes , mushrooms , & spinach .
Only desert gelato .

Oh yeah... I ate there back in the 80's on a trip to Nola when I was traveling for work. I had the onion rings and a 32 ounce porterhouse mid rare  and the mushrooms. Quite possibly the best steak I have ever eaten in a restaurant. I remember the people from work I was traveling with said there is no way you can eat a steak that big. I ate all mine, gnawed the bone and ate half of one of the lady's smaller steak that was with us.  Trust me, there are some fine eating places in New Orleans, but if you want some good beef, this is the place.

That menu makes perfect sense to me. What else would one need.

Nice of them to throw in the filet for the ladies ;D

32 ounce steak fed 3? Good thing I was not there, I ate the whole 32 ounce one by myself. Of course back in the 80's it was cheaper I have paid much more at Ruth's Chris and not had as good a meal.

I was thinking the same thing.  I'll take 64, and you can hold the sides.

That's a great looking steak and those are my favorite style of onion rings, don't like the big thick ones.
