New KCBS Judge
« Reply #-1 on: April 24, 2014, 07:10:49 AM »
I completed the class for KCBS Certified BBQ Judge last night at VFW 846 in Overland Park, Kansas.  I really enjoyed it and learned a lot, not to mention eating some good BBQ.  Thanks to all on this forum who recommended KCBS for Judge Certification

I took the class with the idea of improving my own cooking but now also wanting to attend some contests as a judge

Congratulations and welcome to the club.  Eating out will never be the same again, no matter what you eat.  You will "judge" the meal, probably more critically than before becoming a judge.  Enjoy the ride.  It is fun.

I was really impressed with the degree of seriousness and the emphasis to make sure the cooks get fair and impartial judging after the work and expense they go through to put 6 samples of meat in a box
